The well known job site, Glassdoor has called the town, a ‘prime spot’ for cost of living, schooling, jobs and work satisfaction. Slough is home to one of the largest trading estates in the world, with over 350 companies operating. There are many cooperate companies that keep there head quarters in the Segro Industrial Estate are O2 and Mars. They also branch out with lots of IT companies being based in the town like Logicalis.
Slough is also catching the eye of many investors across the world, with all of the new residential buildings that have been going up over the last 5 years to house all the and plans for more with the incoming cross rail connecting Slough and London within minutes.
in 1937, John Betjeman wrote a poem about Slough. The poem describes Slough as corrupt and cramped, Slough has changed over the years, as now being described as ‘pleasant environment’ and forever growing.
